Releases From La Salle County Jail
The La Salle County Sheriff's Office operates the county jail. A person can leave its custody through bond, time served, dismissal paired with physical discharge, another court order, or movement to a different agency. The county record should show the date and time that this booking ended, the release type or disposition, and a destination or receiving agency when there was a transfer.
Those fields answer separate questions. The end of La Salle County custody does not always mean the end of confinement. A TDCJ commitment, another-county warrant, ICE detainer, or USMS movement can close the county booking while a new custodian takes control. A court judgment or order can explain the legal basis, but it may not timestamp the physical exit from the jail.
Confirm a La Salle County Jail Release
The county does not offer an official online inmate search, live roster, release archive, or recent-release feed. A named booking inquiry should therefore start with direct custody verification and continue with a written record.
- Collect the full legal name, date of birth if known, approximate booking date, arresting agency, and any booking or cause number.
- Call the La Salle County Sheriff at 830-879-3044. Ask whether the identified booking ended and whether the outcome was release or transfer.
- Request the exact release date and time, release type or disposition, and receiving agency or facility if another custodian took control.
- Submit a focused request through the La Salle County GovQA Public Records Center for the booking/release sheet and movement or transfer record.
- Use the cause number with the combined District and County Clerk to obtain the bond order, dismissal, judgment, sentence, or other relevant court order.
- If the sheriff record names TDCJ, ICE, USMS, or another county, continue with that agency's record system.
A simple “is this person there?” question is not enough. A “no” response leaves release, transfer, and other custody-ending events unresolved. The La Salle County released inmate search path explains how the county, TDCJ, federal, and immigration systems differ.
La Salle County Jail Contact
The current official sheriff page verifies the courthouse-square office contact below. It does not publish jail hours. Secondary directories commonly repeat a different physical jail address, but that location was not confirmed on the official page used for this project and is not substituted here.

Request La Salle County Jail Records
Use the La Salle County GovQA Public Records Center to ask for existing records tied to one booking. State the full name and date of birth or booking number, identify the approximate booking period, give a reasonable date range, and request electronic copies. No sheriff-specific fee schedule or response estimate was established in the research, so do not assume a charge or completion date.
A precise request can ask for the booking and release sheet, release date and time, release type or disposition, jail movement or transfer record, receiving agency, bond information, charge and cause data, and booking photograph. Request the photograph separately because an ordinary database export may omit it. Ask for records as maintained rather than demanding that the county answer questions or create a new spreadsheet.
If the reply supplies only current status, follow up for the historical release time and disposition. If it says “transferred,” ask for the recipient and transfer date. When a field is coded, ask for the legend that applied at the time. A withholding or redaction should be read with the legal basis given by the custodian rather than generalized to every jail record.
Note: GovQA is a public-record request system, not an online jail roster, release feed, or permanent inmate archive.
La Salle County Jail Release Fields
A complete record connects the person, booking, custody endpoint, and next destination. These requested fields should be read together.
| Field | What it establishes |
|---|---|
| Name and identifiers | Links the response to the correct person and booking episode. |
| Booking number and intake time | Separates this admission from older or later bookings. |
| Charges and cause numbers | Connects jail data with the correct clerk case. |
| Bond amount and type | Describes a possible release route, but does not alone prove posting or exit. |
| Release date and time | Marks the end of La Salle County custody for that booking. |
| Release type or disposition | Distinguishes bond, time served, court order, transfer, and other recorded outcomes. |
| Receiving agency or location | Shows whether custody continued under another authority. |
A blank destination should not be translated into community release without confirmation. Likewise, the charge field may reflect an allegation at booking rather than the later case result. Use the court file for plea, verdict, dismissal, judgment, sentence, or other legal disposition.
Match La Salle Jail and Court Records
La Salle County uses a combined District and County Clerk office. That can simplify the search for county- and district-court dispositions, but the linked deed-record search is property-only and is not a criminal case portal. Contact the clerk with the person's name, cause number, and approximate filing or disposition date.
Request a docket sheet and the relevant final or interim orders rather than an undefined demand for all records. The court file may show charges, bond orders, filings, plea or verdict, judgment, sentence, jail credit, dismissal, or a community-supervision order. It explains the legal case but may not record the exact moment sheriff custody ended.
Pair the clerk record with the La Salle County Jail release record. A dismissal or acquittal does not by itself rule out another hold. A bond set is not the same as a bond posted. A judgment committing someone to TDCJ explains why the county booking closed, but the statewide TDCJ record is then the source for state custody.
Bail at La Salle County Jail
The official sheriff page says the office accepts bail for people in custody. Bond-out ends the county-jail stay only when the bond is posted, release processing is complete, and no other hold keeps the person confined or sends the person elsewhere. It does not dismiss the pending criminal case or settle the later disposition.
No official La Salle County bond schedule or local pretrial-services process was found. The sheriff's general page also describes a sheriff's policy role in a county without a Bail Bond Board, but that general statement is not proof of La Salle County's present board status. Confirm accepted methods and current policy with the sheriff or court instead of importing another county's rules.
The sound record set contains the court's bond authorization or docket entry, any available bond transaction data, and the sheriff's physical release record. If an ICE detainer, out-of-county warrant, or other hold changed the outcome, the destination field should lead to the next custodian.
No La Salle Jail Roster or App
As of the research date, the official county channels offered no public live roster, 24-hour release list, 72-hour release list, historical booking archive, booking-photo gallery, or verified Texas La Salle County sheriff app. No update cadence, online retention period, or display fields can be reported for a feed that does not exist.
App searches can confuse La Salle County, Texas, with LaSalle County, Illinois. Confirm Texas, Cotulla, and the official county domain before treating any mobile result as local. An Illinois roster, agency, or contact does not belong to this facility.
Texas IVSS-Counties may offer an event alert when a person and participating agency are available, but La Salle participation in every function was not independently confirmed. IVSS also says people no longer in custody may not remain searchable. A missing notification result is not proof of release and must lead back to the sheriff record.
La Salle County Jail Scale
Texas Commission on Jail Standards material reports a 47-bed capacity and a historical local-inmate average daily population of 29 in the cited 2021-22 report. These figures provide scale, not a current population or release count. The report's methodology excludes contract inmates and private contract-only facilities.
Do not combine those numbers with the much larger La Salle County Regional Detention Center population. The Encinal center has a separate ICE and USMS context, legal custodian, and release route. The figures also do not show how many people left La Salle County Jail during any recent period.
After a La Salle Jail Transfer
If the receiving agency is TDCJ, use the statewide offender search and TDCJ information services. A county judgment can show the state sentence, but TDCJ determines placement and can move people between units. Departure from La Salle County Jail does not prove arrival at Cotulla Unit or any specific state facility.
If ICE or USMS receives the person, use the legal custodian's channel. ICE ODLS and facility or ERO confirmation apply to immigration detention; a USMS pretrial case often requires the federal docket and facility. The Regional Detention Center building name alone does not identify which agency held the person.
When another county takes custody, request the transfer recipient and date, then contact that sheriff with the identifiers from the La Salle record. Preserve each custody episode as a separate event. This produces a defensible timeline instead of turning one jail's “not here” answer into a claim that all custody ended.
La Salle Jail Case Source
The official combined District and County Clerk page is the county source for clerk contact and case-record routing. Its property-record link should not be used as a criminal docket search. Give the clerk the cause number when possible and ask for the docket sheet and specific orders that explain the custody outcome.
Keep the clerk and sheriff findings in their proper roles. The clerk establishes the legal action in the case. The La Salle County Jail record establishes the physical end of the booking and any receiving agency. Together they resolve more than either channel alone.
